We
offer a basic ("Level I")
structural survey to keep you in
compliance with NFPA 1403's
requirement for annual structural
surveys. This survey includes a
visual structural survey, sounding of
exposed structural elements, testing
of structural elements (if required),
and removal of representative thermal
linings to observe hidden conditions
(if required). The written
report for this survey lists the
structural defects and provides repair
recommendations.
In
addition, we offer a "Level
II" survey that evaluates thermal
linings and other nonuctural items
(doors, shutters, scuppers,
temperature monitoring systems, etc.),
evaluates the
"functionality" of the
existing burn building layout,
provides repair and renovation
recommendations, and also provides
long-term master planning for the burn
building, including life-cycle cost
analysis of different renovation/replacement
options.
Costs
of the surveys can be discounted if
several facilities within a region can
all have their surveys performed
simultaneously.
Concrete spalls found at ceiling
behind damaged thermal lining
boards. We know how to repair
this damage and how to prevent it from
happening again.
Repaired
burn room that will provide safe live
fire training for at least 20 more
years.
